Shorflo become Exclusive Rental Suppliers of Hidrostal's GP Pumps

Shortflo, the Pump Hire Division of Groundforce, has become the exclusive rental supplier of Hidrostal/s range of GP self priming diesel-driven pumpsets.  Having been developed to meet the requirements and conditions of emergency and project pumping, the pumpsets are already widely used throughout the UK by Water Companies, Environment Agencies and Drainage Boards.

Hidrostal‘s self priming diesel-drive pumpsets were selected by Shorflo because they are extremely environmentally friendly and cost effective to run.  The highly efficient running engine and priming system sets the standards for delivering fuel efficiency and in keeping overall operating costs to a minimum.  Its level control management system means that the pumps do not need to run on ‘snore‘ which has the obvious benefits of reduced pump running time and fuel consumption, as well as eliminating unnecessary noise.  Usually diesel driven pumps are very noisy in operation, however the complete Hidrostal range is built with an acoustic canopy which houses the pump unit and fuel tank to ensure noise levels are kept to the minimum to allow for unrestricted deployment in noise sensitive areas.  There is also no risk of ground contamination as all leakages - sewage, fuel or lubricating oil - will remain within the fully bunded containment.

As with all Hidrostal pumps, they are built around the unique Hidrostal screw centrifugal impeller, recognised for its exceptional solids handling capability.  So, as well as pumping large volumes of water, the Hidrostal self-priming diesel-driven pumpset will pump ‘dirty‘ water containing large solids, debris, sticks and even bentonite with ease, making it idea for emergency flood relief situations.  Their ability to handle unscreened sewage and sludges without blocking also makes them an exceptional mobile pumping station for temporary pumping or transferring sewage between stations when stationary pump units are inoperative.

Said Bill Gorton, Director of Groundforce, "To be a successful pump rental company, it is essential that you can offer your customers the latest mobile pumping packages; a pump that both meets their needs and delivers them additional environmental benefits such as high fuel efficiencies.  When we were setting up the Division we spent significant time assessing what was available and, more importantly, what product and company combined would best meet the challenges and demands of the rental business.  As soon as we met with Hidrostal and saw what they had on offer we were impressed.  They not only have a pump with proven capability, seen by most as the best in its class, they also have the skills and expertise we need to support our new venture.  We are looking forward to having a long and mutually prosperous relationship."
