Oily Water
The sump spins or ‘prerotates’ the oily water mixture so that the oil and other floatable materials are gently enfolded and entrained. It then feeds this mixture to a unique low shear pump which handles it at conventional centrifugal pump efficiencies and flow rates. The ’prerotation’ induced by the sump also automatically adjusts the pump’s discharge flow rates to match the influent rates to the system, which helps eliminate flow surging that can upset oil water separators when pumps are started and stopped. Together the system is unmatched in collecting and feeding oily water separation systems. It skims and pumps floating oils without emulsification while automatically matching pump flow to the influent flow.
