Pumping Fish

We are experts in pumping fish.  Our pumps were originally developed for pumping fresh fish directly from the boat to the processing plant and are now the preferred solution for transfer, grading or tanker loading duties on the modern fish farm.  Being ‘fish-friendly’ pumps, fish are not damaged when moved and the high labour costs incurred with traditional manual labour methods are eliminated.

Pumps are also used for net-to-boat, boat-to-factory transportation in the trawler industry and for cockle, mussel, prawn and shrimp harvesting duties.

Other uses include recovery of fish oil in the rendering plant. The low NPSH and large free passage of the impeller ensuring that the viscous hot offal (96°C) is successfully pumped, the gentle action preventing emulsification.

The paramount requirement in the pumping of live fish, is to ensure that there is no bruising, scale damage or stress caused.
